Keep Games Interesting

Hi, I'm Rudi, and I'm a game developer. I currently specialise in programming but wear all sorts of other hats like designer, 2D artist, and producer to get games made.

I am currently working for Loaded Games, the games development studio I founded alongside two of my closest friends in the seaside town of Plymouth, England. As a studio, we are working towards on our first release, "Menace!". Previously I was part of the programming team at Supermassive Games, where I mainly worked on gameplay programming, prototyping, virtual reality, and UI. While there I helped ship two triple-A virtual reality titles, "The Inpatient" and "Bravo Team" for PS4. Have a look at some of my work below!

I'm enthusiastic about games, both as a medium and an industry, and committed to keeping them both as interesting and exciting as possible. Whether I'm as interesting is up for debate. I love drawing, music, cult cinema, and all sorts of stupid other stuff.

I also study at the University of Plymouth, on the final year of the Computing & Games Development course.

Boss Battle Generator

Feb 2018 - Ongoing

An experiment in using procedural generation to design unique 2D space shoot-'em-up bosses. Among the characteristics generated are boss appearance, weapon selection and placement, attack pattern, movement behaviour, stats, and name. Once a boss battle is generated, jump into playtest mode to try it out! Currently in development.

Menace!

The Suburban Discord Puzzler

Oct 2018 - Ongoing

Part of the team developing Menace! at Loaded Games. Menace! is a unique blend of narrative adventure, stealth, puzzling, and player expression in a series of deep sandbox levels. Play as Carl or Caroline, the strange new folk in an idyllic suburban American town, and take on the mission of ruining the townpeople's days in whichever cruel and creative ways you see fit. I'm responsible for programming, design, and visual art asset creation.

Supermassive Games

I was part of the programming team at the studio for over a year. I worked on a number of projects including VR titles "The Inpatient" and "Bravo Team" for the PS4. Main focuses included prototyping and development of gameplay and VR systems, and UI.

Somewhere Strange

Nov 2016 - Jan 2017

A short little narrative exploration game. Investigate a colony on a foreign world and try and work out why all the strange alien inhabitants disappeared. I'm responsible for everything including programming, design, audio, asset creation, and voice acting(!).
